Toronto Islands

Located on Ward’s and Algonquin Islands, the Toronto Islands is a unique neighbourhood consisting of fifteen inter-connected islands that does not allow any vehicular traffic, requiring walking and cycling as the standard mode of transportation.

The neighbourhood is also home to around 650 residents, where homeowners own the physical house, but the land property is leased from the Ontario Provincial Government. This rarity results in a waiting list of over three hundred hopeful residents of the Islands.

A popular visitation spot, the Toronto Islands is accessible by boat from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at Queens Quay. It is filled with beaches, recreational facilities, biking and walking trails, marinas, picnic areas, kayak rentals, and much more!
