Mount Pleasant West lives up to its name. Running from Yonge Street to Mount Pleasant Road south of Eglinton to its namesake Mount Pleasant Cemetery, this toney neighbourhood has a great variety of independent specialty shops, fine food purveyors and art and antique galleries. Many of the neighbourhood residents, consisting of a mixture of large families, older couples, and singles, live within the low and high-rise apartments or condominiums that scatter the area.

Its growth, location, amenities and walkability have made it one of the city’s most attractive areas and a seller’s marketplace when it comes to real estate. Trendy boutiques market to higher income clientele but the locals know where to go for a reasonable bite. Multiple office buildings can be found throughout the neighbourhood, making it desirable for young professionals. It is also serviced by two TTC subway stations: Davisville and Eglinton, as well as regular bus service.
